Are there travel insurance policies that cover cancellations due to lockdowns?
E4 Reddit (hantavirus search) · 2026-05-13 · United States
I have travel insurance with my metal Revolut plan, and I have a long haul trip booked for August. I called and enquired and after a while of looking, the employee informed me that essentially, if a lockdown were to happen the trip would not be covered. I didn’t get the type of ticket that can be refunded because it was so much more expensive, but now I’m wondering if it was a bad decision? I am able to change the date for a fee though. Does anyone have insurance that would cover cancellation in the event of a lockdown? I just want to be prepared just incase the hantavirus gets worse.
