Background Haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) is caused by hantaviruses and is associated with variable thrombocytopenia, coagulation abnormalities, and bleeding manifestations. While clinical features have been described in multiple studies, no previous systematic review has synthesised evidence on haemostatic dysfunction in HFRS.
