WHO Tuesday update raised total to 9 confirmed cases + 2 probable + 3 deaths (up from 7 confirmed in DON 600 on 2026-05-11). 18 US passengers arrived at specialised quarantine facilities on Monday 11 May: 16 in Nebraska (asymptomatic; one tested positive), 2 at Emory University in Atlanta (at least one symptomatic but tested NEGATIVE for the Andes strain). 122 of 147 people evacuated from the Canary Islands. 27 remain aboard sailing to Rotterdam for disinfection, expected arrival Sunday evening. 6 Australia/New Zealand-bound passengers in NL awaiting repatriation. 3 disembarked at Cape Verde early May. 30+ disembarked at St. Helena 24 April. WHO experts now believe person-to-person transmission occurred onboard.
